Director of Psychosocial Support | Juliane Etima
Juliane Etima is the Division Director of the Psychosocial Support Department. She is a counseling psychologist with HIV management training through CDC/HHS HIV/AIDS fellowship program with Makerere University’s School of Public Health. Over more than a decade she has dedicated her efforts to ensuring that young people receive holistic care with attention to their psychosocial and educational needs as well as their medical needs.
She also leads behavioral science research at MU-JHU and ensures that HHS funded research studies have strong community engagement, with high quality counseling and other integrated psychosocial support to ensure ethical conduct of research centered on the research participants themselves. She has particular interest in working with adolescents and young people and has supported the MU-JHU Young Generation Alive group to design, implement and evaluate programs for children and young people living with or affected by HIV.

Director of Quality Management | Dr. Mugagga Agnes Mary (MBCHB)
Dr Agnes Mugagga is the Director of the Quality Management Division at MU-JHU Research Collaboration. She is a Medical Doctor and a Member of the Research Quality Association RQA with more than 10 years’ experience in clinical research. She is committed to supporting study teams to ensure quality and integrity of scientific research at MU-JHU. A clinician with good knowledge of GCP, local research guidelines, US funded research guidelines and is experienced in implementation and maintenance of QA systems.
Director of Administration and Finance | Airene Profeta Dasal, CPA
Airene Profeta Dasal is the Director of Administration and Finance. A Certified Public Accountant who gained over 15 years professional experience managing financial operations of private, public and not-for-profit institutions in the Philippines and East Africa. She provides oversight and has overall responsibility for Finance, Grants, Procurement and General Administration operations in MU-JHU.
She is a committed finance professional with proven record of leveraging growth by optimizing operational processes and workflows, strengthening internal controls, managing cash flow, mitigating risks, budget control, develop/monitor KPIs and execute strategies. She has an ISO 9001:2008 Provisional Lead Auditor certification and presently completing her Masters in Business Administration specializes in Financial Management at Edinburg Business School of Heriott Watt University.
Director of Clinical Services | Dr. Lillian Wambuzi
Dr Lillian Wambuzi is a Paediatrician, Researcher and the Clinic Division Director at the MU-JHU research collaboration. Following her Paediatrics training at Makerere University and an additional Masters in Public Health from the University of Manchester, she now has over 10 years of experience in HIV prevention research involving children at MU-JHU. Dr Lillian is passionate about the clinical care of children but has recently broadened her Paediatric experience into the exciting area of research in child neurodevelopment and neuropsychology. As the current Clinic Division Director, she provides operational oversight to doctors, nurses, pharmacists and neuropsychologists ensuring efficient running of the daily MU-JHU research and care activities. She is also a champion of work place safety and has been instrumental in the planning and implementation of COVID-19 prevention measures at MU-JHU.
